Suitable Wedding Band - Choosing the best fit band for Wedding

Today's consumers are smart consumers, and many people are realizing that the best way to get a good value for jewelry, including your wedding band, is to buy it online. Unfortunately, when shopping online you don't have the benefit of experienced jewelers and salespeople, and you can't try on rings to find one that fits. This presents problems for young people, particularly men, for whom the wedding band is the first ring they've ever worn.

It would be embarrassing to get all the way to the point in the wedding ceremony where you are supposed to say, "With this ring, I thee wed," and realize that your wedding band doesn't fit on your finger. At the same time, it would be tragic to have your wedding band be too big and slip off of your finger and into the ocean during your Caribbean honeymoon. Therefore, it is crucial to make sure that you know your ring size in order to assure a proper fit.

Get the ring for your beloved while doing online shopping

The traditional way to determine a ring size is for a jeweler to slip a series of metal rings of different sizes onto your finger until he finds the one that is correct. This is still the best option for sizing. If it is possible, you should go to a jewelry shop during the time period when you are shopping for your wedding band. Even if you choose not to buy anything there, they will generally tell you your size at no cost, and it will take very little time.

Visiting a traditional jewelry store may not be an option for you. If that is the case, you can determine your ring size yourself simply by measuring. Use a cloth tape measure or a small piece of string to measure around the base of your finger, taking your knuckle into consideration if it is considerably larger. Then compare the measurement to the ring size chart provided by the company from which you intend to buy your wedding band.

Some companies may also provide, free of charge, a paper or plastic ring sizer that you can use at home. Generally, these have notches for each available size, and you simply need to mark at which notch the ring fits you. While these are not as accurate as professional metal sizers, they should provide a good guideline to base your purchase.

Most importantly, once your wedding band arrives be sure to try it on just prior to the wedding day. Even if your sizing was correct, finger sizes can change greatly from one season to the next. It is very easy to have a ring re-sized if you find that it doesn't fit, and it will save you a great deal of embarrassment or grief.
